Alchohol Interaction Taking metformin with alcohol can cause lactic acidosis and you may experience malaise, respiratory distress, slow or irregular heartbeat, sleepiness, stomach upset, or other unusual symptoms.
Pregnancy Interaction ROGLIN M TABLET 2 MG/500 MG may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction No information is available on the use of ROGLIN M TABLET 2 MG/500 MG during lactation. Please consult your doctor.
Common Side Effect Nausea, Loss of appetite, Altered taste, Stomach pain, Diarrhoea, Edema (swelling), Weight gain, Bone fracture, Blurred vision, Respiratory tract infection.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. ROGLIN M TABLET 2 MG/500 MG is to be taken with food.ROGLIN M TABLET 2 MG/500 MG may cause stomach upset if taken on empty stomach.
Driving Your ability to drive may be affected if your blood sugar is low or high. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney ROGLIN M TABLET 2 MG/500 MG should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of ROGLIN M TABLET 2 MG/500 MG may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of ROGLIN M TABLET 2 MG/500 MG is, however, not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease. Regular monitoring of kidney function test is advisable while you are taking this medicine.
Liver ROGLIN M TABLET 2 MG/500 MG should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of ROGLIN M TABLET 2 MG/500 MG may be needed. Please consult your doctor.ROGLIN M TABLET 2 MG/500 MG is generally started with low dose in patients with mild to moderate liver disease and its use is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
Mechanism of action ROGLIN M TABLET 2 MG/500 MG is a combination of two antidiabetic medicines: Rosiglitazone and Metformin.tRosiglitazone is a thiazolidinedione which works by increasing the body's sensitivity to insulin. Metformin is a biguanide. It works by lowering sugar production in the liver, delaying sugar absorption from intestines and increasing the body's sensitivity to insulin.
