Alchohol Interaction It is generally safe to consume alcohol with Risofos 35mg Tablet.
Pregnancy Interaction Risofos 35mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Risofos 35mg Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Expert Advice Take it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. Do not lie down after taking the medicine. Wait at least 1 hour before taking any other medication or eating or drinking anything. Take calcium and vitamin D to help build your bones when taking Risofos. Do not take it during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Tell your doctor if you become pregnant while taking Risofos. Inform your doctor if you experience pain in jaw. This problem may be seen after dental work. Your doctor will monitor your response to Risofos by testing your bone mineral density (BMD). This is usually done every 1-3 years.
Common Side Effect Musculoskeletal (bone, muscle or joint) pain, Headache, Heartburn, Difficulty in swallowing.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Risofos 35mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
Driving Risofos 35mg Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Kidney Risofos 35mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Risofos 35mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.No dose adjustment is recommended in patients with mild to moderate kidney disease. However, use of Risofos 35mg Tablet is not advised in severe kidney disease patients.
Liver Risofos 35mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Risofos 35mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Risofos 35mg Tablet is a bisphosphonate. It acts by suppressing the activity of osteoclasts, cells that cause the destruction of bone, thereby strengthening the bones and minimizing the risk of fractures.
