Alchohol Interaction Taking a large amount of alcohol can increase acidity and cause acid reflux in the food pipe causing heartburn. This would decrease the effect of this drug and can aggravate your underlying condition.
Pregnancy Interaction Rabegard DSR 30 mg/20 mg Capsule may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Rabegard DSR 30 mg/20 mg Capsule is probably unsafe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Common Side Effect Diarrhoea, Stomach pain, Dryness in mouth, Headache, Dizziness, Flatulence, Weakness, Flu-like symptoms.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Rabegard DSR 30 mg/20 mg Capsule is to be taken empty stomach.Take it preferably 30 minutes before food.
Driving Rabegard DSR 30 mg/20 mg Capsule may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney Rabegard DSR 30 mg/20 mg Capsule should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Rabegard DSR 30 mg/20 mg Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver Rabegard DSR 30 mg/20 mg Capsule should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Rabegard DSR 30 mg/20 mg Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Rabegard DSR 30 mg/20 mg Capsule is not recommended in patients with moderate and severe liver disease.
Mechanism of action Rabegard DSR 30 mg/20 mg Capsule is a combination of two medicines: Domperidone and Rabeprazole which relieve symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Domperidone is a prokinetic which works on the region in the brain that controls vomiting. It also acts on the upper digestive tract and helps food move more easily through the stomach. Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which helps relieve acid-related indigestion and heartburn.
