Alchohol Interaction Taking a large amount of alcohol can increase acidity and cause acid reflux in the food pipe causing heartburn. This would decrease the effect of this drug and can aggravate your underlying condition.
Pregnancy Interaction PZ 4DSR 30 mg/40 mg Capsule may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction PZ 4DSR 30 mg/40 mg Capsule should be used with caution during lactation. \nBreast feeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.
Common Side Effect Diarrhoea, Stomach pain, Flatulence, Dryness in mouth, Dizziness, Headache.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. PZ 4DSR 30 mg/40 mg Capsule is to be taken empty stomach.Take it preferably 30 minutes before food.
Driving PZ 4DSR 30 mg/40 mg Capsule may make you feel dizzy, drowsy or affect your vision. Do not drive until your vision is clear.
Kidney PZ 4DSR 30 mg/40 mg Capsule should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of PZ 4DSR 30 mg/40 mg Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver PZ 4DSR 30 mg/40 mg Capsule is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of PZ 4DSR 30 mg/40 mg Capsule may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action PZ 4DSR 30 mg/40 mg Capsule is a combination of two medicines: Domperidone and Pantoprazole which relieve symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Domperidone is a prokinetic which works on the region in the brain that controls vomiting. It also acts on the upper digestive tract and helps food move more easily through the stomach. Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which helps relieve acid-related indigestion and heartburn.
