Lactation Interaction Mefac Spas Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Common Side Effect Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhoea, Indigestion, Dryness in mouth, Loss of appetite, Sleepiness, Weakness, Nervousness, Blurred vision, Heartburn.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Mefac Spas Tablet is to be taken with food.This will help to avoid stomach upset.
Driving Mefac Spas Tablet may make you feel dizzy, drowsy or affect your vision. Do not drive until your vision is clear.
Kidney Mefac Spas Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Mefac Spas Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Mefac Spas Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
Liver Mefac Spas Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Mefac Spas Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Mefac Spas Tablet is a combination of two medicines: dicyclomine and mefenamic acid which relieve abdominal pain. Dicyclomine is an anticholinergic which works by relaxing the muscles in the stomach and gut (intestine). It stops sudden muscle contractions (spasms). By doing this, it relieves cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort. Mefenamic acid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling).
