Alchohol Interaction MECOVON G TABLET may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Pregnancy Interaction MECOVON G TABLET may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction MECOVON G TABLET is probably safe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.Baby should be monitored for excessive sleepiness and weight gain.
Common Side Effect Dizziness, Sleepiness, Tiredness, Uncoordinated body movements.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. MECOVON G TABLET may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Driving MECOVON G TABLET may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney MECOVON G TABLET should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of MECOVON G TABLET may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver There is limited information available on the use of MECOVON G TABLET in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action MECOVON G TABLET is a combination of two medicines: Gabapentin and Methylcobalamin. Gabapentin is an alpha 2 delta ligand which decreases pain by modulating calcium channel activity of the nerve cells. Methylcobalamin is a form of vitamin B which helps in the production of myelin, a substance that protects nerve fibers and rejuvenates damaged nerve cells. Together, they relieve neuropathic pain (pain from damaged nerves).
