Pregnancy Interaction Colchicindon 0.5mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Colchicindon 0.5mg Tablet is safe to use during lactation. \nHuman studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.
Expert Advice Do not start or continue colchicine and consult your doctor, if you are allergic to colchicine.Consult doctor if you have serious nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or if you have tingling in your fingers or toe.Consult your doctor before taking colchicine, if you feel exhausted and worn out.Consult your doctor, if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
Common Side Effect Nausea, Vomiting, Abdominal pain.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Colchicindon 0.5mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Driving Colchicindon 0.5mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney Colchicindon 0.5mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Colchicindon 0.5mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Colchicindon 0.5mg Tablet should preferably be avoided if you have serious kidney disease.
Liver Colchicindon 0.5mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Colchicindon 0.5mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.However, close monitoring is recommended for patients with mild to moderate liver disease also but dose adjustment is not necessary.
Mechanism of action Colchicindon 0.5mg Tablet reduces inflammation which causes pain, swelling and other symptoms of gout.
