Alchohol Interaction Alerid D Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Pregnancy Interaction Alerid D Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Alerid D Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Common Side Effect Headache, Dryness in mouth, Nausea, Vomiting, Tiredness, Sleepiness, Restlessness.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Alerid D Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Driving Alerid D Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney Alerid D Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Alerid D Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Alerid D Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
Liver Alerid D Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Alerid D Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Alerid D Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Levocetirizine and Phenylephrine which relieve sneezing and runny nose due to allergies. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic which blocks the action of a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing temporary relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.
