Alchohol Interaction Preganza NT Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Pregnancy Interaction Preganza NT Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Preganza NT Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Common Side Effect Constipation, Difficulty in urination, Weight gain, Sleepiness, Dizziness, Tiredness, Blurred vision, Dryness in mouth, Increased heart rate, Orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing), Uncoordinated body movements.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Preganza NT Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Driving Do not drive unless you are feeling well.As Preganza NT Tablet may affect your alertness which may affect your ability to drive.
Kidney Preganza NT Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Preganza NT Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver Preganza NT Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Preganza NT Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Preganza NT Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Pregabalin and Nortriptyline. Pregabalin is an alpha 2 delta ligand which decreases pain by modulating calcium channel activity of the nerve cells. Nortriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant which increases the levels of chemical messengers (serotonin and noradrenaline) that stop the movement of pain signals in the brain. Together, they relieve neuropathic pain (pain from damaged nerves).
