Alchohol Interaction Taking a large amount of alcohol can increase acidity and cause acid reflux in the food pipe causing heartburn. This would decrease the effect of this drug and can aggravate your underlying condition.
Pregnancy Interaction Penbus-O 40mg/4mg Tablet is probably safe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Penbus-O 40mg/4mg Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Common Side Effect Diarrhoea, Constipation, Stomach pain, Fatigue, Headache, Flatulence, Dizziness, Flushing of skin.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Penbus-O 40mg/4mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
Driving Penbus-O 40mg/4mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, drowsy or affect your vision. Do not drive until your vision is clear.
Kidney Penbus-O 40mg/4mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Penbus-O 40mg/4mg Tablet is recommended.However, inform your doctor if you have an underlying kidney disease. Limited information is available in patients taking this medicine for more than one day.
Liver Penbus-O 40mg/4mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Penbus-O 40mg/4mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Penbus-O 40mg/4mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Pantoprazole and Ondansetron. Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which helps in the relief of acid-related indigestion and heartburn. Ondansetron is an antiemetic (anti-nausea medicine). It inhibits the action of serotonin, a chemical messenger that can trigger nausea and vomiting.
