| Alchohol Interaction | Pdx Tablet may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heartbeat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure with alcohol (Disulfiram reactions). |
| Pregnancy Interaction | Pdx Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor. |
| Lactation Interaction | Pdx Tablet should be used with caution during lactation. \nBreast feeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.If a single dose of Pdx Tablet is used, it is recommended to hold breastfeeding for 12-24 hours to allow the removal of the drug. |
| Common Side Effect | Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhoea, Epigastric pain, Dyspepsia, Dizziness, Tiredness, Metallic taste, Dryness in mouth, Allergic reaction, Rash. |
| How to Use | Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Pdx Tablet is to be taken with food. |
| Driving | Do not drive unless you are feeling well.Pdx Tablet may make you feel drowsy or gives you problems with coordination or sensation (e.g. numbness or weakness). This may affect your driving ability. |
| Kidney | Pdx Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Pdx Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of this medicine is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease. |
| Liver | Pdx Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Pdx Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor. |
| Mechanism of action | Pdx Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Amoxicillin and Tinidazole. Amoxicillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Tinidazole kills bacteria and other microorganisms that cause infections by damaging the DNA. Together, they eradicate your infection effectively. |
