Alchohol Interaction Taking Metoprolol with alcohol may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate.
Pregnancy Interaction Olmesure-M 25 Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy.There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Olmesure-M 25 Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Common Side Effect Nausea, Diarrhoea, Constipation, Stomach upset, Altered taste, Weakness, Dizziness, Headache, Cold extremities, Numbness of extremity, Increased potassium level in blood, Slow heart rate, Decreased blood pressure.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Olmesure-M 25 Tablet is to be taken with food.
Driving Olmesure-M 25 Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney Olmesure-M 25 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Olmesure-M 25 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Regular monitoring of blood pressure is advisable for dose adjustment.
Liver Olmesure-M 25 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Olmesure-M 25 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Olmesure-M 25 Tablet is a combination of two blood-pressure lowering medicines: Olmesartan and Metoprolol Succinate. Olmesartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking the hormone angiotensin thereby relaxing blood vessels. Metoprolol Succinate is a beta blocker which works specifically on the heart to reduce heart rate and lower blood pressure. Together they allow the blood to flow more smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently.
