Alchohol Interaction Ofodol Tablet may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heartbeat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure with alcohol (Disulfiram reactions).
Pregnancy Interaction Ofodol Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction No information is available on the use of Ofodol Tablet during lactation. Please consult your doctor.
Common Side Effect Nausea, Vomiting, Stomach pain, Loss of appetite, Headache, Dizziness.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Ofodol Tablet is to be taken with food.
Driving Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Kidney Ofodol Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Ofodol Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Liver Ofodol Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Ofodol Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Ofodol Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Ornidazole, Ofloxacin, and Lactobacillus. Ornidazole is an antibiotic which kills bacteria and other infectious microorganisms by damaging the DNA. Ofloxacin is also an antibiotic which kills bacteria by preventing them from reproducing and repairing themselves. Together, they treat your infection effectively. Lactobacillus is a live microorganism which restores the balance of good bacteria in the intestine that may get upset with antibiotic use or due to intestinal infections.
