Pregnancy Interaction Mecoder 500mcg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Mecoder 500mcg Tablet is safe to use during lactation. \nHuman studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.
Expert Advice Do not take methylcobalmin if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to methylcobalamin, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.Tell your doctor if your occupation required you to handle mercury or its compound.Do not use methylcobalamin over a period of months, if there is a lack of satisfactory clinical response.
Common Side Effect Gastrointestinal disturbance, Allergic skin rash.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Meconerv 500mcg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Driving Meconerv 500mcg Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Kidney There is limited information available on the use of Meconerv 500mcg Tablet in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.
Liver There is limited information available on the use of Mecoder 500mcg Tablet in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Mecoder 500mcg Tablet works by protecting nerve cells and encourages their normal growth. It also helps make new red blood cells and lowers homocysteine, a protein which in excess can cause inflammation (swelling) of blood vessels, including those that feed the brain.
