Alchohol Interaction Spironolactone and alcohol may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate.
Pregnancy Interaction Lactomide 20 mg/50 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Lactomide 20 mg/50 mg Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Common Side Effect Dehydration, Decreased sodium level in blood, Breast enlargement in male, Decreased magnesium level in blood, Decreased calcium level in blood, Increased blood uric acid.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Lactomide 20 mg/50 mg Tablet is to be taken with food.Avoid Lactomide 20 mg/50 mg Tablet with dietary sodium.
Driving Lactomide 20 mg/50 mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney Lactomide 20 mg/50 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Lactomide 20 mg/50 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Lactomide 20 mg/50 mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.

Mechanism of action Lactomide 20 mg/50 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Furosemide and Spironolactone. Furosemide is a diuretic which removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body through urine. Over time, it also relaxes blood vessels, but causes potassium loss. Spironolactone is also a diuretic which conserves potassium, thereby balancing its levels in the body.
