Alchohol Interaction Isordil 10mg Tablet may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heartbeat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure with alcohol (Disulfiram reactions).
Pregnancy Interaction Isordil 10mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Isordil 10mg Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Expert Advice Headache (‘nitrate headache’) may occur but should go away after a few days of continued treatment. You may develop tolerance to Isordil with time, meaning that the same dose may be less effective next time. Follow the prescribed dosing schedule to avoid this. Eat healthy (low-fat, high-fibre, low-sodium diet), quit smoking, limit alcohol intake, increase your physical activity, watch your weight, and reduce stress. Notify your doctor about other medicines (eg. sildenafil, tadalafil or vardenafil) that you are taking as Isordil may interact with them and cause a serious fall in blood pressure. This may lead to collapse, unconsciousness and could be fatal.
Common Side Effect Headache, Flushing of face, Dizziness, Increased heart rate, Orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing).
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Isordil 10mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
Driving Isordil 10mg Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Kidney Isordil 10mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Isordil 10mg Tablet is recommended.However, inform your doctor if you have an underlying kidney disease.
Liver Isordil 10mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Isordil 10mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Isordil 10mg Tablet is a nitrate.It reduces the workload of the heart. As a result, the heart muscle does not need as much blood and oxygen supply.
