Lactation Interaction Hexamic Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Expert Advice Do not take tranexamic acid: before the start of menstruation. If you are a woman >45 years of age If you are allergic to tranexamic acid or any of the ingredients of this medicine Do not continue tranexamic acid and consult your doctor If you experience skin rashes or other serious symptoms like swelling of face, lips and throat causing breathlessness or difficulty swallowing, as this may denote allergy. Consult your doctor if menstrual bleeding is not reduced after three menstrual cycles. To be sure this medication is not causing harmful effects, your vision may need to be tested while you are using tranexamic acid. Follow your doctor's instructions.
Common Side Effect Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhoea.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Hexamic Tablet is to be taken with food.
Driving Hexamic Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Kidney Hexamic Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Hexamic Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver Hexamic Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Hexamic Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Hexamic Tablet prevents the breakdown of clots and stops bleeding.
