Expert Advice Your doctor has prescribed Durize to shrink the enlarged prostate and reduce the risk of urinary retention. It may take 3 to 6 months to see the full beneficial effect of Durize. Hence, continue taking the medicine as advised by your doctor. Durize is usually well tolerated. However, it may produce some mild sexual side effects such as low sexual drive. Do not donate blood for 6 months after taking the last dose of Durize.
Common Side Effect Decreased libido, Decreased semen volume, Impotence.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. DURIZE 0.5 MG SOFTGEL may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Driving DURIZE 0.5 MG SOFTGEL does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Kidney DURIZE 0.5 MG SOFTGEL is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of DURIZE 0.5 MG SOFTGEL may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Liver DURIZE 0.5 MG SOFTGEL should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of DURIZE 0.5 MG SOFTGEL may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of DURIZE 0.5 MG SOFTGEL is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
Mechanism of action DURIZE 0.5 MG SOFTGEL is a 5-alpha reductase inhibitors. It blocks an enzyme which is necessary to change testosterone to another hormone that causes the prostate to grow. As a result, it helps to shrink the prostate and relieve the symptoms like difficulty in passing urine.
