Alchohol Interaction Taking tamsulosin with alcohol may lower your blood pressure. This can cause dizziness or feeling like you might pass out, especially when getting up from a sitting or lying position.
Pregnancy Interaction Defcort TM Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Defcort TM Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Common Side Effect Running nose, Ejaculation disorder, Dizziness.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Defcort TM Tablet is to be taken with food.
Driving Defcort TM Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Kidney Defcort TM Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Defcort TM Tablet is recommended.However, inform your doctor if you have any kidney disease.
Liver Defcort TM Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Defcort TM Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Limited information is available on the use of Defcort TM Tablet in these patients.
Mechanism of action Defcort TM Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Tamsulosin and Deflazacort.tTamsulosin is an alpha-blocker. It works by relaxing muscle around the bladder exit and prostate gland so urine is passed more easily. Deflazacort is a steroid medicine. It works by reducing inflammation (swelling) in the kidneys to promote the passage of the stones through urine.
