Alchohol Interaction Taking Telmisartan with alcohol may excessively lower the blood pressure.
Pregnancy Interaction Cortel LN Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy.There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction No information is available on the use of Cortel LN Tablet during lactation. Please consult your doctor.
Common Side Effect Altered taste, Ankle swelling, Headache, Dizziness, Weakness, Numbness of extremity, Nausea, Edema (swelling), Stomach upset, Diarrhoea, Flushing of skin, Increased potassium level in blood, Decreased blood pressure.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Cortel LN Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Driving Cortel LN Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney There is limited information available on the use of Cortel LN Tablet in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.
Liver Cortel LN Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Cortel LN Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Cortel LN Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
Mechanism of action Cortel LN Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Cilnidipine and Telmisartan which lower blood pressure effectively. Cilnidipine is a calcium channel blocker (CCB) and Telmisartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). They work by relaxing the blood vessels and making the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body.
