Pregnancy Interaction Azemo 1% Eye Drop is probably safe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Azemo 1% Eye Drop is safe to use during lactation. \nHuman studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.It should be wiped off thoroughly prior to nursing if it is being applied to the breast or nipple area.
Expert Advice Your doctor has prescribed Azemo to treat bacterial infections of the eye. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop. Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution. Stinging sensation may occur for 1-2 mins. Notify your doctor if it persists for longer. Make sure to use within 4 weeks of opening the bottle.
How to Use This medicine is for external use only.Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye/ear without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid or ear. Wipe off extra liquid.
Driving It is not known whether Azemo 1% Eye Drop alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
Kidney There is limited information available on the use of Azemo 1% Eye Drop in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.

Mechanism of action Azemo 1% Eye Drop belongs to a class of medications called as macrolide antibiotics. It works by interfering with formation of essential protein (protein synthesis) thereby preventing the bacteria from growing and reproducing.
