Pregnancy Interaction ATROCHLOR D EYE DROP may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction ATROCHLOR D EYE DROP is probably unsafe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Common Side Effect Itching, Irritation, Stinging sensation, Eye redness, Blurred vision, Dryness in mouth.
How to Use This medicine is for external use only.Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye/ear without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid or ear. Wipe off extra liquid.
Driving Do not drive unless you are feeling well.ATROCHLOR D EYE DROP may cause dizziness (vertigo). Changes in your eyesight or muscle weakness may also happen. This may affect your driving ability.
Kidney ATROCHLOR D EYE DROP is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of ATROCHLOR D EYE DROP may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.Regular monitoring of kidney function tests and other blood tests is advisable while you are taking ATROCHLOR D EYE DROP.
Liver ATROCHLOR D EYE DROP should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of ATROCHLOR D EYE DROP may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action ATROCHLOR D EYE DROP is a combination of three medicines: Atropine, Chloramphenicol and Dexamethasone. Atropine is an anticholinergic medicine which works by making the pupil of your eye larger and relax the muscles in your eye. Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic which stops bacterial growth by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Dexamethasone is a steroid medicine. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the eye red, swollen and itchy.
