Common Side Effect Constipation, Difficulty in urination, Weight gain, Dryness in mouth, Orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing), Drowsiness, Blurred vision, Increased heart rate.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Amicobal 10mg/1500mcg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.Take with food if it causes stomach upset
Driving Do not drive unless you are feeling well.Amicobal 10mg/1500mcg Tablet may impair your alertness which may affect your ability to drive.
Kidney Amicobal 10mg/1500mcg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Amicobal 10mg/1500mcg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Liver Amicobal 10mg/1500mcg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Amicobal 10mg/1500mcg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Amicobal 10mg/1500mcg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
Mechanism of action Amicobal 10mg/1500mcg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Amitriptyline and methylcobalamin. Amitriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant which increases the levels of chemical messengers (serotonin and noradrenaline) that stop the movement of pain signals in the brain. Methylcobalamin is a form of vitamin B which helps in the production of myelin, a substance that protects nerve fibres and rejuvenates damaged nerve cells. Together, they relieve neuropathic pain (pain from damaged nerves).
