Alchohol Interaction Alzene AD Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Pregnancy Interaction Alzene AD Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction No information is available on the use of Alzene AD Tablet during lactation. Please consult your doctor.
Common Side Effect Nausea, Vomiting, Dryness in mouth, Stomach upset, Headache, Sleepiness, Restlessness, Sleep disturbance, Allergic reaction.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Alzene AD Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Driving Alzene AD Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney Alzene AD Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Alzene AD Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Alzene AD Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
Liver Alzene AD Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Alzene AD Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Alzene AD Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Levocetirizine, ambroxol and pseudoephedrine which relieve common cold symptoms. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Ambroxol is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.
