Alchohol Interaction Taking alfuzosin with alcohol can lower your blood pressure. This can cause dizziness or feeling like you might pass out, especially when getting up from a sitting or lying position.
Pregnancy Interaction Alfoo 10mg Tablet PR is probably safe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction No information is available on the use of Alfoo 10mg Tablet PR during lactation. Please consult your doctor.
Expert Advice Alfoo helps in relieving the symptoms of enlarged prostate. It doesn't decrease the size of the prostate. Alfoo must be taken with food. You will feel better within hours or days of starting treatment. Full effect is usually seen within 2 weeks. Alfoo may cause you to feel dizzy, faint, lightheaded, or weak, especially when you stand up (orthostatic hypotension). Take special precaution if you have to drive, use machines or do any activity that needs alertness. Liver Alfoo 10mg Tablet PR should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Alfoo 10mg Tablet PR may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Alfoo 10mg Tablet PR is not recommended in patients with moderate and severe liver disease.
Mechanism of action Alfoo 10mg Tablet PR is an alpha blocker. It works by relaxing muscle around the bladder exit and prostate gland so urine is passed more easily.
